Happy Birthday America!

My students know that I like to do things in "threes."  They also know that within a certain practice session, if we are concentrating on any certain thing which needs the attention of repetition, we will do it no more than three times so as not to overdo, but to focus on the detail necessary for safe progression.  Yoga is, after all, a "practice."  None of us are perfect.  We practice and we build together.  So what do we build?  We build confidence which comes from becoming familiar with the practice, an inner strength which begins to radiate because we see and feel ourselves becoming more resilient, and because we practice together, we build community.   Wherever you are here in America, I challenge you to think of where you are physically, emotionally and spiritually, contemplate the fact that because you live in America, there is nothing you cannot accomplish and then resolve to reach toward your greater potential (again three things).   Use your doTERRA CPTG grounding blend, Balance, or a combination of energizing essential oils like Peppermint and Lemon, and do Vrksasana, Tree pose.  Remember to root down in order to reach up.  Be ready with arms wide open to reach out and support others, while graciously receiving what others wish to give.  Enjoy every step of progress, as "the journey is the journey." And, enjoy some inspiring patriotic quotes (No, I couldn't seem to limit it to three):

Our country is not the only thing to which we owe our allegiance.  It is also owed to justice and to humanity.  Patriotism consists not in waving the flag, but in striving that our country shall be righteous as well as strong.  ~James Bryce

My God!  How little do my countrymen know what precious blessings they are in possession of, and which no other people on earth enjoy!  ~Thomas Jefferson

Love your country.  Your country is the land where your parents sleep, where is spoken that language in which the chosen of your heart, blushing, whispered the first word of love; it is the home that God has given you that by striving to perfect yourselves therein you may prepare to ascend to him.  ~Giuseppe Mazzini

Ours is the only country deliberately founded on a good idea.  ~John Gunther
